Alec Soth
While I was still doing any photography, the work of photographer Alec Soth was always inspiring to me. I had not seen much of his work after he abandoned his blog a couple years ago, but have just rediscovered his website.

Here’s another.
Just liked ol’ Bukka’s style of playin. Thought I’d share.
I am not at liberty to show this new work yet as it is a commission for a friend, but I have new piece with a couple of process images to show. I’m starting to work with painting and fusing glass. It’s something we do a lot of in different forms at work, but not something I’m directly involved in usually. If you’re interested in what that can look like you can check out the work of Rob Cooper here. He’s a co-worker who’s been a huge help to me in learning the process. He and his wife both do some amazing work. More soon.
This is a new print I just finished. It’s on cream colored speckletone paper from French Paper Co. It started out as 4 colors. I was experimenting with split fountains for the background, but I had a little trouble so I did another run skipping that layer. You can see some of both drying on the rack there. I used metallic silver for the color on the face. Overall I’m pretty happy with it. It’s giving me a little material to explore with further work, which is something I need. I seem to get stuck on one image and am never able to push it towards a series. Conceptually this is pretty loose but theres enough to keep working in some direction. Even though only 2 people read this, if anyone’s interested I have a few left. I’m gonna put them in my Etsy shop soon.
This is for Joel. And anyone who doesn’t know-this is Thomas Mapfumo. Enjoy.
New Blog. Let’s See if this lasts longer than any of the others. I think I won’t have a plan this time. Just whatever I feel like. Just because.
